JAMMU: Keeping up with the tradition of celebrating all the festivals with great fervour and gaiety and apprising the children of their rich culture and heritage,the JK Public School, Kunjwani today held the Baisakhi Celebrations.
A vibrant and exhilarating ‘Baisakhi’ programme was organized in the school.The school premises were aptly decorated depicting the harvest season. Children were explained about the importance of this festival by showcasing a Punjabi village scene.
The celebrations began with a singing of Punjabi song, ‘Malle Nu Chal Mere NalKude’ followed by a speech explaining the significance of the day.
The whole school came alive with a brilliant Bhangra performance which was the highlight of the programme.
Besides this, the students remembered the tenth Copied from Jammu links news guru of the Sikhs who laid the foundation of ‘KhalsaPanth’. The little toddlers were dressed to their best in colourful attires. The children dressed in ethnic wear danced to the tunes of Baisakhi music.
The spirit of Baisakhi filled the ambiance with joy. Principal, SK Singh in his address said that we should celebrate these festivals with great pomp and show as they spread the message of oneness among all.
He also added that schools had a great role and responsibility of making children aware with their cultural past so we should keep the spirituality alive within ourselves to mark these important days.
