Zulfkar stresses on promoting state’s cultural treasure trove

RAJOURI AUGUST 05: An impressive and colourful cultural programme was organized today in the Conference Hall of PWD Dak Bungalow by the Cultural Wing, Department of Information and Public Relations  Jammu.

Minister for Information and Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs  Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Deputy Commissioner Rajouri  Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary  was the guest of honour.

Among others Director FCS & CAs R. A. Inqalabi, ADDC A.S. Chib, SSP Yougal Manhas, ACR Qayoom Mir, ACD Noor Alam, DIO Mohammad Shafait ,media persons and large number of people attended the cultural programme.

While speaking on the occasion Ch. Zulfkar appreciated the performances and said that such programmes provide a platform to the artists to exhibit their talent and also help to promote our rich cultural heritage.

He stressed that it is  important that a conducive environment is provided to nurture the talent in the state  and said that  the department of Information and Public Relations  is making all out efforts to promote the local talent through series of cultural activities.

He appreciated Cultural Officer Raman Joshi and artists of the department for presenting a Scintillating cultural evening and asked them to organize more such programmes in the district in future. He also assured the artists that their genuine issues would be taken care off by the department.

The programme lasted for about three hours during which various cultural events viz group and solo songs were presented by the artists. The artists of great reputation like Jeevan  Sharma, Mahinder Kumar, Ashfaq Ahmad Mir, Suresh Kumar, Vijay Anand, Kamal Kumar, Yash Kumar, Bodh Raj, Desh Raj and Sahil Mehra presented Dogri, Pahari and Gojri songs besides sufiyana kalam of Mian Mohammad Bakhsh and Ameer Khusroo.
