The rise in new coronavirus cases outside China, now constitutes a global health emergency, the World Health Organization’s Emergency Committee declared on Thursday, calling on all countries to take urgent measures to contain the respiratory disease.

The first case of the Coronavirus was reported in Wuhan City, China, and has claimed 130 people in mainland China, and more than 6,000 people have been infected.

Speaking on this occasion Dr Munawar Hussain wazir Block Medical officer Sankoo threw light on Novel Coronavirus is an Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) and Influenza like illness and caused by a new type of Coronavirus.

Novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a large family of viruses that causes illnesses ranging from the common cold to acute respiratory syndromes.

While Dr Munawar wazir further said,that the virus does not seem to pass easily from person to person unless there is close contact, such as occurs when providing unprotected care to patients.

The common symptoms of the novel coronavirus include respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.They said
