Delhi Govt announces Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia for slain civil defence volunteer’s kin

New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) The Delhi government will provide an ex-gratia amount of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of a civil defence volunteer who was murdered last month, Delhi Cabinet Minister Imran Hussain announced on Wednesday.
Hussain and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj visited the family of the deceased where the minister announced to offer them the compensation sum. The duo also ensured the family in providing legal aid.
“The Delhi Government will provide financial support of Rs. 10 lac to the family. We will extend all possible legal support to the family and stands with them in their fight for justice. The Delhi Government will do whatever it can to bring justice to the victim’s family. We assure complete cooperation from our end to the family,” Hussain said.
Bhardwaj said the party demands swift justice and strict punishment for the perpetrators.
The 21-year-old girl working as a civil defence volunteer was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her live-in partner’s house in Delhi’s Badli area on August 5.
