CEC Feroz Khan visits Silmo-Batalik constituency to assess developmental works

KARGIL, June 4, 2022: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today visited Silmo-Batalik constituency to assess various developmental works undergoing in Education, Irrigation, PHE, R&B, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Health and other concerned sectors.

CEO Kargil, Mushtaq Ahmad, CMO Kargil, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Executive Engineer PHE, Muhammad Hassan, Executive Engineer R&B Division Sadiq Ali, concerned officers of Irrigation, RD&PRD, DYSSO and other officers accompanied him during the tour.

During the tour, the CEC visited Lalung, Silmo, Lakha, Batalik, Chulichan, Sanache and Darchiks villages.

At Lalung, CEC Khan visited Govt. High School Lalung and interacted with students and staff members and took assessment of infrastructure and teaching facilities.

Khan directed to dismantle the library and laboratory block and rebuild it at the earliest. He also directed to make provision for a multipurpose hall.

He directed to explore options for the installation of submersible pumps at the school and village. CEC said teaching faculty will be increased subject to increase in student enrolment.

Regarding the works of Health Centre, CEC Khan directed the concerned department to explore necessary ways and measures.

Khan also visited the construction site of Sharchey-Silmo road and directed to complete the works at the earliest and propose DPR for minor works pertaining to the said road.

Later, the CEC visited Govt. Higher Secondary School Silmo where he took a detailed assessment of facilities being provided to the students.

He interacted with students and visited all sections of the school. Khan directed the concerned to avail offline modular classes for proper functioning of the Atal Tinkering lab.

The CEC expressed satisfaction over the enrolment of maximum students from the constituency and assured to resolve drinking water facility at the earliest.

He also took a meeting with the PRI members in order to know various issues of the area.

Khan directed to complete the pending works at the earliest and also took an assessment of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) works in the area.

The CEC gave a patient hearing to various issues related to health, irrigation, PHE, electricity, R&B and other concerned sectors and assured timely redressal of the issues.

Khan assured that Ration Store Silmo will be allotted this year and directed the concerned department to take concrete measures for the same.

At Lakha village, the CEC visited Govt. Middle School and directed the concerned to check the feasibility of access road and expressed satisfaction over renovation works of the school.

Khan assured that measures will be taken for a playground in the school. Regarding the vacancy of posts, he said that the possibility will be explored soon.

The CEC also visited the under construction site of NTPHC Batalik where he took an assessment of works from the concerned officers and directed to smoothen the approach road and complete the building work within the stipulated timeline.

Khan after visiting Sanache village reached Govt. Lower High School Batalik and took an assessment of various facilities being provided to students.

The CEC asserted that educational infrastructure and quality education need to be strengthened for proper development of society and assured that robust measures will be taken to fill the vacant posts wherever needed.

The CEC also visited Govt. High School Chulichan where he directed the concerned to dismantle the old building and explore the possibilities of a furnished two-storey. He further directed to complete the approach road to school at the earliest.

Khan expressed satisfaction related to infrastructure and said there is no dearth of capital and infrastructure.

Related to the various development works, CEC Khan assured to resolve issues pertaining to drinking water, solar lights, water lifting and vacancies of teachers.

Later, the CEC visited Darchiks village and took an assessment of works pertaining to R&B, PHE, Irrigation, Education and other concerned sectors.

He directed the concerned to complete the additional building for multipurpose hall, and classrooms. Khan was informed that a playground is already allotted under the SDP.

CEC Khan directed all the concerned officers to take strong action pertaining to the demands raised by the public during the tour and take necessary action at the earliest.
